As reported in an official statement from AC Milan, 24-year-old defender Davide Calabria underwent successful surgery today in Milan. The defender had a sports hernia. Here are the clubs official words:
"AC Milan has announced that Davide Calabria has undergone sports hernia surgery in Milan today. The operation, performed by videolaparoscopy by Dr Giuseppe Sansonetti in the presence of Rossoneri doctor Lucio Genesio, was perfectly successful.
Recovery time is estimated to be 6 weeks,".
Calabria missed some time this season due to a an issue with his right knee that required surgery. This is his second surgery in that span of 3 months. Thankfully, hernia surgery is much more benign and the defender will be healthy in 6 weeks. Calabria was not called up to the Euro squad this year, so the Italian will have plenty of time to recover.
