This is the one we’ve been awaiting so patiently for. Last game of the season and the golden chance for AC Milan Women win their first-ever piece of silverware tomorrow as they take on AS Roma on the Coppa Italia final.

Probable line-ups:

AC Milan coach Maurizio Ganz have all the players of the roster available for this game however, as he signaled in the press conference earlier, he is set to field his trustees.

AS Roma coach Betty Bavagnoli also have her full squad at her disposal after forward Annamaria Serturini recovered from a concussion suffered in their last Serie A game.

Milan (3-5-2): Korenciova; Vitale, Agard, Fusetti; Bergamaschi, Vero, Jane, Hasegawa, Tucceri Cimini; Giacinti, Dowie

Roma (4-2-3-1): Ceasar; Soffia, Swaby, Linari, Bartoli; Giugliano, Bernauer; Bonfantini, Thomas, Serturini; Lazaro.

Road to the final:

After the group stage, where the rossonere beat Orobica and Cesena, AC Milan got past Sassuolo in the quarter-finals due to the away goal rule (1-1 in Sassuolo and 0-0 in Milan) and city rivals Internazionale in the semi-finals (2-1 at the Suning center and 4-2 at Vismara)

The giallorosse beat Roma CF and Tavagnacco in the group stage, then trashed Florentia in the quarter-finals (0-4 in Florence and 6-0 in Rome) and surprisingly took Juventus out of the competition in the semi-finals, also thanks to the away goal rule (2-1 in Rome and 2-3 in Turin).

Last games:

Both teams had the same outcomes in their last 4 games, including a goalless draw between them in Serie A matchday 19. Afterwards, AC Milan lost to Fiorentina (1-3) and managed to draw against Sassuolo (0-0) and Hellas Verona (2-2).

AS Roma drew with Florentia (1-1), lost to Juventus (0-1) and ended their Serie A season with a tie against Napoli (2-2).

Head-to-head:

To date, AC Milan and AS Roma have faced each other 6 times, all in Serie A, with 5 rossonere wins and 1 draw. Milan have found the giallorosse’s net 13 times, meanwhile conceded 4 goals.

Both clubs were born in 2018 and this is the first time they reach the Coppa Italia final.

Stats:

  • Valentina Giacinti is AC Milan’s top scorer this season in the competition with 5 goals
  • Camelia Ceasar and Manuela Giugliano were AC Milan players in the 2018/2019 season
  • AC Milan have scored 158 goals (excluding own goals) so far in all competitions
  • This will be the 30th match for AC Milan this season, setting a new team’s record.

Where and When:

The Coppa Italia final will take place this Sunday, May, 30, at the Mapei Stadium, in Sassuolo, at 20:30 CEST. Both SKY and TIMVISION app will broadcast it in Italy and fan overseas will be able to watch it though the AC Milan Official app.
