According to Fiorentina news source FirenzeViola.it, the future of 30-year-old captain German Pezzella does not seem to be in Florence. The player has a contract expiring next season, but management looks to move on from their captain, as he could be the first move of the summer for the club. Pezzella had a less than favorable season for Las Violas, and the club will look to collect some funds for the player's services.
Clubs across Europe have inquired over the player, one of those clubs being Milan. Manager Stefano Pioli would be happy to have one of his former players back on his bench, and with the rumored departure of Alessio Romagnoli, the bench will need reinforcements in defense. It has been reported too, however, that management for the Rossoneri would prefer to focus on younger profiles for the future. Milan will look to purchase Fikayo Tomori on a permanent deal, but the defense could still use another signing this year if Romagnoli indeed leaves the club.
The situation in Florence does not suggest agreement with the captain, and many expect a farewell this summer. Milan will be certain to follow the player during the summer transfer window.
