AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has sent a supportive message, published by Milannews, to the fans and to the AC Milan Women’s players, coach and staff after the Coppa Italia final, where AS Roma clinched the trophy after a nervy 1-3 penalty shoot-out win over the rossonere.
Here are his words:
“Good morning everyone,
I write to you after attending the Women’s Italian Cup Final, last night in Reggio Emilia. Although the result was not what I wanted, I really want to share how proud I am of our girls. Their performance was superb: they never gave up, they played with great determination and quality until the end, only losing in the lottery that penalty shootout is.
Their commitment and their connection to the Club is a lesson for everyone; A team that has shown what it means to be MILAN, to be Rossonere. We should also take them as an example for their indomitable character to push the Club towards a new development for years to come; To give everything for each other and for the Club in order to be able to bring it back, step by step, where it deserves to be, at the top of the world of football.
Thanks to all our athletes, to Mr. Ganz and all the staff for this incredible season, and we’re looking forward to the next one, because, with this spirit, there are no limits to our ambitions. With great pride, for all of us, for our Club”.
