According to news provided by La Gazzetta dello Sport in today's edition, Fikayo Tomori's signing could be completed very soon as the deal is on the verge of the finalisation with Chelsea who will be paid the full amount of the buy-option.
With Tomori back to the San Siro, it means that Stefano Pioli can have the defensive pair of the English centre-back and the Danish veteran Simon Kjaer.
As for Alessio Romagnoli, the club's intention is leaning towards keeping him and renew his contract soon. Pioli and the managers would like to have some quality depth at the back with these three names, especially knowing that the team will participate in the challenging Champions League competition.
The newspaper also reminds us that Matteo Gabbia is available for Pioli's selection and even Mattia Caldara who returns from his loan spell at Atalanta. There is also Pierre Kalulu who can play in the heart of defense.
This is a long list of defenders, and therefore, Milan must think of reducing it because the total of the wages would be too high. That is why Milan will try to offload Caldara elsewhere and maybe Gabbia can gain some playing time on loan.
