As Voetbal 24 has reported, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has publicly made a claim that his former club should make a move to sign 21-year-old Albert Sambi Lokongo. Arsenal have been on the lookout for a reinforcement to the midfield, and Henry wants to make certain that the Gunners at least take a look at the Belgian talent.
Henry has connections to Lokongo, as the former Arsenal man is part of the coaching staff for Belgium this summer for the Euro competition. While Lokongo was only called up to the U21 squad, Henry still has noticed the player's ability and potential.
The 21-year-old has been with his club Anderlecht since 2017, and has made himself a regular in the rotation. This season, he made 27 appearances, and contributed 3 goals and 2 assists for his club.
Milan will look to reinforce their midfield with a signing this summer. With the departure of Meite, the Rossoneri will need to strengthen their bench behind Kessie and Bennacer. Lokongo fits the profile that Maldini is after. He is looking for a young and talented prospect, that already has a deal of experience in the football world. The player already has over 50 senior appearances, and has great upside, as recognized by Thierry Henry. Milan will be sure to keep tabs on the player this summer.
