During the Transfer Window podcast, Sport journalist Duncan Castles has spoken about the future of Manchester United midfielder Donny Van De Beek amid rumors sending him to AC Milan, among others. Here is what he said:
"The guidance I have as to his position as to what he wants to do this summer is that he wants to stay in England, he wants to stay at Manchester United, and he wants to prove that he is capable of not only playing in the Premier League but excelling in the Premier League. He wants to do that regardless of what Manchester United's plans are for him. Now, I think that's very understandable given his status before he came to the club."
On including him as a makeweight in Sancho's deal:
"To be seen as a makeweight in a deal for the next big thing that's coming to the Premier League, Jadon Sancho, is not a good look for a player. I think if there was a proposal from a major club wanting to sign Van de Beek in his own right for a substantial transfer fee, and that club was of interest to Van de Beek, you'd have a different story there. That isn't in place at the moment and Van de Beek is going to be resistant to the kind of dealing Manchester United are considering doing with the player, which will obviously complicate things for both parties."
