Santos president Andres Rueda has spoken about the contractual situation of club's rising star Kaio Jorge, whose agreement with the Brazilian heavyweights is due to expire by the end of the year. However, the 19-year-old wonderkid is reportedly followed by AC Milan in the current summer transfer window.
"Kaio Jorge has a contract for three plus two years starting in January, but it is not valid at FIFA, only in Brazil. In Brazil, he has a valid contract at Santos. He could only go abroad for free. The player's desire to go to Europe in this window is well known. It's a family wish. No concrete proposal arrived for the club. I can only interact if a proposal arrives. I've been talking to him, his family and his businessman since January. They have a proposal that I think is very good for the renovation of Santos. If an interesting proposal comes to the player, they don't want to let Santos left with nothing. They understand the club's investment and don't want to leave for free at the end of the year. If it doesn't arrive, we'll definitely sit down to renew. It remains the same. Until the window starts and closes, that will be the answer." clarified Rueda.
