To reinforce the midfield, AC Milan are linked with several players that are said to be on the radar of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, the market men for the Rossoneri.
A profile that has came up on the notebooks of the club chiefs is that of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, Austrian 27-year-old star Marcel Sabitzer.
According to what has been revealed by Milannews.it, the player is indeed among the options for Maldini to replace Hakan Calhanoglu who left on a free to bitter rivals Inter.
Sabitzer has only one year left in his contract with RB Leipzig and is unlikely to extend his stay by signing on a new deal.
However, the problem is that many clubs have set their sights on the Austrian, and it will not be simple for Milan to take him.
Given that the contract expiry is due in June 30 2022, the pricetag for the player is not too high. Sabitzer is now valued at around 20 million euros.
The online outlet confirms that there are no negotiations at the moment between Milan and the German club or the player. But, there is a strong appreciation for his profile and there is also the approval for him. Capable of playing as central midfielder and playmaker, Sabitzer would suit Stefano Pioli’s playstyle.
