As reported by Spanish news outlet Marca, Milan target James Rodriguez reported for medicals and first training of the season in Liverpool with his club Everton. The Columbian midfielder has been linked to a move away from the club after a disappointing season, and new manager Rafa Benitez certainly does not increase the player's likelihood of staying.
Benitez acted as James Rodriguez's manager during their time together at Real Madrid, and relations were not always great between the two. After Everton's hire of the Spanish manager, the Colombian's exit seems inevitable.
Despite the rumors, James appeared to be engaged and motivated during today's training. Still, the rumors of the player coming to Milan are getting louder. James' agent, Jorge Mendes, was seen in Milan last week negotiating on behalf of his client.
Milan have been interested in the player as a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu. James is well experienced, and a move to Milan would have him as the third player ever to play in all five major European leagues.
While the player is linked to a move, nothing is official yet so the player is still due to report to the preseason trainings with his club. James Rodriguez's first obligation with Everton will be a trip to the United States on July 25 for friendly matches.
