Torino president Urbano Cairo has spoken about club's captain and Italy international Andrea Belotti, as he has also revealed a transfer background involving AC Milan and the Gallo. Here are his words:
"Juric said, he was a top player even if in the last period he was not at the top. He has been with us for six years, I have always tried to carry him in the palm of my hand even when we renewed him with a clause: I wanted the 100 million clause to be recognized in Italy and abroad. One day I went to Madrid for dinner with Florentino Perez, he told me that he was renewing the contract of Kroos and had put a clause in it, I answered him talking about Belotti. The Gallo was not yet so well known, as soon as I talked about the 100 million clause Perez was amazed. With Belotti I spoke well of the clause, I asked him if it was a burden and he said no, 'I play football' he told me. And he had a great championship. I tell this to say my certificate of esteem for Belotti, which is maximum. In 2017, Milan looked for him and he was not indifferent, Milan is Milan even if he was very close to Toro. Returning to him, I have absolute esteem: he is a decent boy, a great bomber. He is important, especially now at a time when there is an air and a desire to redo things in a certain way, that there is total adhesion to the project."
