The Right-back position for the Rossoneri team is occupied by Davide Calabria whose performances in the last season earned him a contract extension until 2025.
However, the right defensive flank is still a topic of discussion in this mercato for Maldini and Massara's team of collaborators at Casa Milan.
Diogo Dalot who proved to be a solid rotation option in the last term, returned to Manchester United after expiry of his loan spell with the Rossoneri. But, Milan is still eyeing up a transfer of the Portuguese talent in order to make him the Calabria deputy.
Dalot remains to be the number 1 goal in the shortlist. He knows the league and club environment already which is a plus. The transfer formula proposed is that of a loan with the option to buy the card, but Manchester United are rejecting this suggestion.
Maldini and Massara do not give up, though. The feeling is that this is the kind of operation to be completed and done at the end of the transfer market window. Maybe then, the Red Devils would open up to the loan offer.
