Sebastien Frey, former French goalkeeper who played in Serie A for Inter, Parma, Fiorentina as well as Genoa spoke to the microphones of Tuttosport about his compatriot Mike Maignan:
"For the price-quality ratio, Milan have certainly signed the best possible goalkeeper. The Italian league is difficult, they will have all eyes on them and they will have to be able to withstand the pressure. Comparisons with Gigio Donnarumma? This is the only thing that can put him in trouble, But he is worthy of being a Milan player. He is very explosive about certain things, he has many spectacular saves. On the goal line it will not be easy to put the ball past him. He can improve with his feet, but Dida will help him grow."
On Gigio's exit to PSG:
"If I were Donnarumma, I would have stayed at Milan in order to become a Milan legend. The love story that ended with Donnarumma allows Maignan to be welcomed with lots of applause and support from the whole environment. The performances, however, will have to hold up to ensure that this applause and this support last over time.
