According to what has been reported by the sources at La Stampa, the Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi is reportedly pushing for the entry of Paolo Maldini, former captain and executive of AC Milan, into the FIGC. Among the names being considered for the role of Federal President are also Giuseppe Marotta, current president of Inter Milan, and Alessandro Del Piero, two other highly influential figures in Italian football.
The matter will inevitably be at the centre of attention in the coming weeks, also because the Federal Council has already been convened for 22 June, a date that could prove decisive in understanding what the next moves will be at the top of Italian football.
