After the game which ended in a 1-1 draw against Nice, the French coach, Christophe Galtier spoke to Milan TV and said the following:
"We faced an opponent of great quality", he declared, "although they weren't full, they are a team that finished second in their league. It went better in intensity and pace than in previous friendlies. There was desire and enthusiasm. I'm sorry for the goal because it is the third we have taken during this pre-season period, but certainly against a great player like Olivier Giroud who has a formidable header. There are some satisfying points, but also several things to be better with some different physical conditions."
Galtier added, "It was important to play at home with our fans, it was equally important to play against a great team. The players have seen their level of play. It was an interesting match, obviously far from perfect, but there has been progress since the last game."
