AC Milan is on a hunt for an attacking midfielder, still. After the exit of Hakan Calhanoglu to rivals Inter on a free transfer, Paolo Maldini is now looking at various profiles to fill the void with Ricky Massara.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan has many profiles to choose from. Right now, however, the managers are not making any accelerations. They chose to take their time and see which opportunity suits the club best.
The names being closely monitored are the following:
- Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea. The attacking midfielder is also capable of playing as right-winger. He is 28 years old and currently not central to Thomas Tuchel's technical project for the Blues. Chelsea, could let him out on loan in the next few weeks.
- Nikola Vlasic of CSKA Moscow is also heavily linked to AC Milan, the 23-year-old Croatia international is among the favourite candidates for Maldini and Massara.
- RB Leipzig's Marcel Sabitzer is a strong possible reinforcement for Milan because his contract expires next year and does not seem willing to renew with the Bundesliga outfit. The 27-year-old Austrian is a versatile midfielder with good technique and vision.
