AC Milan signed the young French defender Pierre Kalulu last season. The player showed promising signs of good potential and tactical flexibility.
The former Lyon player can play as a right-back and even as a centre-back. With the French national team in the Olympic games, Kalulu played as a central defender.
AC Milan management and coaching staff included have always placed confidence and faith in the boy, aware of his abilities and ceiling of potential. The club never considered letting him go, reports Calciomercato.com.
At the back, Fikayo Tomori as well as Simon Kjaer are the regular starters with Romagnoli being the first substitute on the bench. Kalulu will have to sit behind, with Gabbia and wait for his chances in the centre-back position. Thus, there is a lot of competition. But, Pioli could use him on the right as a rotation option for Davide Calabria. However, the potential arrival of Diogo Dalot would also mean lack of space for the French defender.
Kalulu has shown excellent potential but would need to find continuity to grow and improve. As for a loan move, it was never considered so far. However, if Diogo Dalot were to make a return to Milanello, then the loan track of Kalulu would be reviewed by Maldini and Massara.
AC Milan's stance is clear, they know his worth and talent. They are betting on him and do not want to deprive themselves from his services, at least not by letting him go on a definitive transfer.
