AC Milan signed Pietro Pellegri from Monaco to bolster the attack. He will be a solution for Stefano Pioli as the squad needs a healthy rotation for the long season.
Pietro Pellegri, former player of Genoa then Monaco, presented himself to the media in a press conference today and he started by saying the following:
"Even if my experience at Monaco was unlucky, now surely the future is different. I immediately found a familiar environment, a structure where there is everything to think about football and feel good."
On playing with Ibrahimovic and Giroud:
"Playing with both Ibrahimovic and Giroud is like a dream. I came to Milan to learn from them."
On taking the number 64:
"The number 64 symbolises the birthday of my father, Marco. That is why I chose it."
On returning to the Serie A:
"I arrive here with the desire to redeem myself and to repay the trust of the club managers."
Is it true that Ibrahimovic is your model?
"It was a wonderful experience meeting Ibrahimovic. Since I was little he has been my idol and when I gave him high five yesterday it was wonderful."
Do you remember your dad's tears and what do you need to learn from Ibrahimovic?
"From a champion like Ibrahimovic there is a lot to learn. My father's tears at the debut were normal. Seeing his son score in the stadium of their city is a great emotion"
On his aim in this season:
"My goal now is to convince the club to redeem me because I want to stay here in this great club. I have been unlucky at Monaco, but now I only think of the positive aspects. The experience at Monaco, even if it was not positive, I would do it again. It taught me a lot and it is an experience that I would do again."
Have you spoken with coach Pioli already?
"The coach is expecting determination and willingness to work. I want to improve myself and be available to the team."
How would you describe your time at Genoa and Monaco?
"Genoa was home while Monaco was a formative experience where I grew up a lot. Milan, however, is a dream."
What thrill is playing the Champions League?
"For all children it is a dream to play this competition. It is also a dream for me. I have hunger, determination and quality", concludes Pellegri.
