The last couple of years have been very hard for football in Europe and in Italy especially. The Covid-19 pandemic hit very hard and has affected so many lives besides football. Now, life is starting to return to normal slowly with the reopening of stadiums. But, there is no denying that all the clubs have suffered a lot lately on a financial aspect.
We shed light on AC Milan, city rivals Inter and Juventus who have registered a loss around 1 billion euros in the last two years.
The year 2020 / 2021 season, approved by all 3 clubs, marks a total loss of 551.3 million euros which is a clear increase compared to the previous season as a loss of 386.7 million euros was registered. Thus, it is a total of 938 million euros in two years only.
The books are in the red for all three big clubs mentioned earlier. But, AC Milan is going the right way. In fact, the Rossoneri's balance was in the red with 194 million euros and now it is 96.4 million euros. It is the contrary to the respective cases of the Bianconeri and Nerazzurri who had more losses in the last period. AC Milan has done a great effort thanks to Elliott and Ivan Gazidis who managed to cut the losses and extra costs to half.
