Hellas Verona came to the San Siro and they played to win the game. AC Milan struggled massively against Igor Tudor's men.

Stefano Pioli's players started the game in the worst way possible as Hellas Verona attacked hard and scored the first goal of the game thanks to a powerful strike of Gianluca Caprari in the 7th minute. Then, Milan tried to press and score an equaliser. However, the efforts were soon thwarted as Verona took advantage of a poorly placed pass by Fodé Ballo-Touré. The pass was intercepted easily and they swifty entered the penalty box thanks with a low cross which Nikola Kalinic managed to turn it into a penalty after a foul from Alessio Romagnoli. Antonin Barak scored from the spot in the 24th minute.

Many players of the club looked clumsy and out of form. Ante Rebic in the 35th minute looks injured and had to be replaced by Rafael Leao who became Milan's hope to bring some much needed dynamism to the attack.

Second half started with Krunic and Castillejo in and Maldini and Saelemaekers out. There was more dynamism and the efforts of the players were translated into a goal after a cross by Rafael Leao which was met by Olivier Giroud who headed the ball past the goalkeeper of Hellas Verona.

AC Milan kept trying with some chances, especially Leao who brought more danger. But Hellas Verona attempted to block the Milanese attacks and tried to play the counter-attack.

Fortunately, Milan never gave up and returned to score an equaliser thanks to a penalty converted by Franck Kessié. Pioli's changes were right and helped the team wake up.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic came on right after the penalty and replaced Ismael Bennacer, Stefano Pioli wanted the win at all costs. Samu Castillejo was the one to contribute to Milan's win. In his first appearance this season, he brought the goal, although he did not score it, but his cross deflected off Verona's defender and Montipo could not save the ball from entering his net.

Hellas Verona tried to go all out for the attack, but this time Milan defended with more focus than in the second half and the game ended safely in favour of AC Milan.

Il Diavolo team finished the game with 3 very important points as they escape from Inter's chase who lost to Lazio today. Now, time to rest up and start thinking of the next game which is matchday 3 of the Champions League fixture: Porto.
