AC Milan are now following a new policy regarding the contract renewals. The club will no longer wait until the last season in a player's contract before starting negotiations. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are planning to lock their stars with new contracts early.
The Rossoneri management is already looking at players whose contracts expire in 2024 such as Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez and Rade Krunic.
The club management has started already in talks with Ismael Bennacer, Algerian midfielder who is 23 years old.
To Calciomercato.com's knowledge, the former Empoli and Arsenal player is earning a salary just a little over 1.5 million euros net per season. Maldini and Massara want to convince the player and reward him with a bigger contract. The negotiations are not near the finish line, but they are well underway.
The release clause which is currently 50 million euros, will also be discussed. AC Milan directors would like to remove it from Bennacer's contract or make it higher. The club is awaiting with optimism a response from the player which may arrive in the next few days.
