AC Milan managers, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have been working according to a new policy regarding renewals.
The club is now focusing on the players whose contracts expire in the next few seasons. After Alexis Saelemaekers and reported advanced negotiations of Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer as well, the leaders at Casa Milan are also thinking of Rafael Leao whose deal expires in 2024.

According to what is reported by Calciomercato.com, Maldini and Massara are in talks with super Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes who represents the former Lille winger. The idea is to extend his stay at Milanello until June 2026. Leao, 22, who has 5 goals and 2 assists to his name so far during this season in 13 appearances, has a contract running until 2024.
Another play who can also enjoy a new contract is former Empoli star: Rade Krunic. The Bosnian midfielder, 28, who served as a decent rotation option for Pioli, could be on the agenda. His current contract expires in 2024. AC Milan management considers rewarding him with a 2-year-extension.

As for the sales, the same source writes that two operations should be done already in January's transfer window. First, there is the 26-year-old Spanish winger Samu Castillejo, former Villareal man, who has a contract due to expire in June 2023.
In addition to Castillejo, Andrea Conti, Italian 27-year-old right-back who is yet to make an impact for the club this season is also ready to end his experience at Milanello. His contract expires at the end of the season and it is possible that he leaves in January to look for a playing opportunity elsewhere.
