AC Milan boss, Stefano Pioli, spoke to the media during the post-match press conference after the win against AS Roma. Here are his words:
"Ibrahimovic? He is certainly better. He has had a difficult summer but he is recovering. He is a player who gives us a lot in many aspects, we hope he continues to do well for himself and for us."
What do you need to do to avoid last season's mistakes?
"I think that last year we had a good continuity even if we had a drop in the second half of the season that didn't allow us to stay close to Inter. It doesn't matter to be first now: I'm happy with the performances and we have to be good at keeping our level of concentration high. We can control our performances but not the refereeing episodes, we want to continue on this path." said Pioli, "I think Milan started this growth path two years ago, the club was good at integrating and adapting the players. All the negative experiences have helped us along this path. We must remain very humble and ready for the next match."
Pioli on winning at the Olimpico:
"We needed personality and simplicity in handling the ball. We got the ball rolling well and the team played well both in eleven against eleven and even when outnumbered. We deserved this victory. There are some mistakes we make but we take our risks because we have a way of playing that gives us security and certainty. We cannot think of dominating for the entirety of the match. The level in Italy is rising, strong teams like Roma are putting you in difficulty but this is what the other teams are capable of doing as well."
