In his usual piece for La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arrigo Sacchi commented on the top fixture of matchday 12 which was the Derby della Madonnina:
"Milan and Inter have honored the importance of the match, and this is a fact to underline. The public, who finally came back to see a derby live, was not bored and, believe me, it is no small feat. The first half it was very fun."
Sacchi continued:
"Milan started strong, they immediately pushed on the accelerator and kept pace that I would call 'European'. Milan managed to press in the attacking zone and steal a lot of balls. In Italy, we usually go slower than this level."
The former tactician concluded:
"Tatarusanu was very good. And then the whole defensive line, except Ballo Tourè, convinced me. I think that Sandro Tonali and Davide Calabria are in growth. As for Inter, Perisic impressed me in the second half. He put some good balls in the middle to the area, while in the first phase of the match he was more shy. I always like Barella, too bad that he was hurt, I hope it's nothing hurt because I think of the national team. Brozovic is always useful in the middle: he distributes , organizes and recovers balls."
