As reported by Corriere della Sera in today's print edition, Milan municipality are pushing for a public debate regarding for the new San Siro stadium project.
This is the path chosen by the municipality and the referendum is always a viable option. Either today or tomorrow, group leader of 'Europa Verde', Carlo Menguzzi, will present the resolution to give the green light to the public debate, which will allow citizens to inform themselves and express their point of view on the project and its consequences, as relayed by Calcio e Finanza.
Monguzzi said:
"Between today and tomorrow I present the resolution requesting a public debate and I ask my political side to vote on it because there are many things that still need to be clarified. We will discuss the public debate without prejudice. I believe that the debate allows a more articulated comparison with the territory than the referendum question which stops at a yes or a no and risks being too simplifying compared to a very complex intervention."
