AC Milan were on the hunt for an important name to sign during the summer transfer market window in order to reinforce the attacking midfield. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara evaluated different profiles all over Europe, but a deal never happened.
Brahim Diaz, loanee of Real Madrid has done well since the season's start and Pioli can still expect a lot from him. Rade Krunic is his backup for now but the Rossoneri still want to bring another player who can add more quality.
According to what is reported by Calciomercato.it, AC Milan management is still interested in Chelsea's attacking midfielder (who can also play as a right-winger) Hakim Ziyech. The race to land the player, however, is difficult.
In fact, Spanish heavyweights, FC Barcelona, were also interested in the Moroccan international in the summer and were ready to guarantee a high salary for him unlike Milan.
According to the same source, Chelsea are now open to letting Ziyech leave Stamford Bridge on loan. But, they would prefer to include a buy-obligation in the agreement, or at least add 'advantageous' case. Therefore, the former Ajax star could also leave in January with Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan also interested.
