In these last few days, news about financial ambiguity has returned to be the talk of the media regarding Serie A. Some financial aspects of particular clubs are being investigated. Juventus are on top of the list.
In fact, according to what was reported by Corriere della Sera, Finance police went to the Juventus headquarters to acquire documents as part of the investigation into the plusvalenza deals. The prosecutor's office is examining transfer market affairs between 2019 and 2021.
A report by Nicolo Schira claims that Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici (the latter is now in Tottenham) are under investigation for over 42 deals which have been made by the club. In particular, the exchange of Arthur and Pjanic is being studied and also the exchange done with Marseille: Tongya from Juventus to Marseille and Aké from the French outfit to the Italian club.
Two outcomes could come out from this investigation, adds the journalist mentioned above: Juventus could receive a fine or even a ban, a second scenario would be imprisonment for the responsible parties because false accounting is a crime punished by law.
The Italian authority that is responsible for regulating the stock exchange are looking deep into capital gains on the transfer market. Another club who is under the radar is Napoli for the Osimhen deal: he moved to the Italian club for around 70 million euros from Lille, but part of the deal was to send four players to the French side: Orestis Karnezis, Claudio Manzo, Luigi Liguori and Ciro Palmieri, they all fetched a price somewhere around the 20 million euros mark.
