AC Milan lost 1-3 against Sassuolo at the San Siro stadium. The defeat is definitely hard to accept as Stefano Pioli's team were not really solid defensively.
La Gazzetta dello Sport discusses the game and voted for Simon Kjaer as the best Milan player on the pitch with a 6 rating. The same rating was also given to Junior Messias who entered later during the match and made a few attempts to help his teammates in the attack.
Mike Maignan could not do much in the three goals conceded and was rated with a 5.5. Alexis Saelemaekers continues to disappoint with a 5.5 as well. Sandro Tonali also had the same rating.
Alessio Romagnoli started the game well as he scored a header thanks to a good corner from a cross, but that was not enough as he had some crucial mistakes and was shown a red card; a 5 rating for him and also for Ismael Bennacer. Pietro Pellegri had some energy and tried to prove himself in this difficult match, but his attempts did not work out, a 5 for him as well.
The rest of the AC Milan players had also frustrating performances: Alessandro Florenzi, Theo Hernandez, Tiémoué Bakayoko, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not display a good level and therefore they were shown a 4.5 rating.
Franck Kessié, however, was the worst player on the pitch with a 4 rating.
