Stefano Pioli spoke to the media about the match against Liverpool which ended in a loss. Here are his statements during the press conference:
"With the ifs and buts, history is not made. We have lost the matches, facing a very high level: it means that we are not lacking much, but we are missing something, perhaps a combination of rhythm, experience and quality."
What is the biggest drawback?
"In the first matches we certainly deserved more, at least a positive result if not the victory. But it is useless to look too far back: we knew it was a difficult group. We will need these matches a lot: ours is a path of growth. We tried until the end, but we did not succeed."
Pioli continued:
"I think that the second goal of Liverpool left a negative mark on the team. But I don't think we didn't fight, trying hard to put the game back together. We had some occasions, even if we weren't as daring as we wanted, also due to too slow ball management. The second goal made us lose some confidence: it shouldn't have happened, but it did."
