Former AC Milan legendary headcoach, Arrigo Sacchi, in his usual piece to La Gazzetta dello Sport analysed the defeat of the red and black faithful against Liverpool.
"It was a football lesson from Liverpool at the San Siro. Jurgen Klopp fielded a second team reinforced with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, and Alisson Becker and his team won with merit."
"Milan did their best, but they were hit by a hurricane", said Sacchi "the exit from the Champions League should help Stefano Pioli's men to take another step forward."
"The Rossoneri showed various limits at the international limits. Pioli is intelligent, he should not be demoralized, he has done a lot in these two years: as a wise coach , will not have to find justifications, but should try to remedy the most serious shortcomings. Klopp has been leading Liverpool for five years: he has always improved the team, so much so that today a group of semi-unknown youngsters played a magnificent game."
Arrigo Sacchi concluded:
"Unfortunately, the Rossoneri have been less organised than Liverpool. The English team took the second balls almost always. The road to success requires first of all to be a true group in spirit, where everyone participates connected by an invisible thread that is the game. Good luck, dear Milan. But beware: it is a lightness to think of solving collective problems with the individual, the Cristiano Ronaldo-Juventus affair teaches."
