AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini is studying the names who can reinforce the attacking department, as per Calciomercato.com. There are also other areas to fix such as the defence. But, the striker's role is also not forgotten.

The club is looking to add a quality profile to Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic who are 35 and 40 respectively. Pietro Pellegri, on the other hand, has been suffering to an injury which left Ibrahimovic alone in that role because Giroud has also been injured. Moreover, the Monaco loanee  did not convince in the few times he entered the pitch.

The names that AC Milan studies:

As per Calciomercato.com, the names that the Rossoneri management is studying are Julian Alvarez from River Plate and Agustin Alvarez  from Penarol in Uruguay.

The first one is a starlet deemed highly by those in Argentina. In this recent season, he has been able to score 22 goals and provide 14 assists in 45 appearances. As for his contract, it expires in December 2022. Juventus, Inter and Atlético Madrid are also interested in the 21-year-old attacker with River Plate trying to renew the contract of their star who has a release clause of 25 million euros.

As for Agustin Alvarez, his agent has met with the AC Milan management at Casa Milan at the start of the December month to see if he can be the right profile to reinforce the attack. The Uruguayan 20-year-old star of Penarol has a contract until June 2024. In 40 games, he scored 23 goals and made 5 assists.

Luke Jovic is also an option but he is less convincing. The Real Madrid centre-forward has been struggling with the Spanish giants since his arrival. The former Eintracht-Frankfurt star who is only 23 years old scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists so far within Carlo Ancelotti's team in 11 appearances. His contract is due to expire in June 2025.

Alexandre Lacazette is also a name on the list but the profile is losing 'heat' in regards of a possible transfer to AC Milan. The French attacker sees his contract expiring in June 2022 and the chances of seeing him join the Rossoneri are decreasing, especially with the recent unfolding events between Arsenal and Aubameyang (the Gabonese was stripped of the captaincy due to breaching club disciplinary rules). The 30-year-old former star of Lyon, Lacazette, has contributed to Arsenal this season with 4 goals and 2 assists in 15 appearances across the Premier League and EFL Cup competitions.

AC Milan are looking at many names for a possible January operation. But, to make it happen, an exit is needed first and this is how everything depends on Monaco's loanee who is currently injured: Pietro Pellegri. Torino and Genoa are looking for a new centre-forward and are interested in him. However, there is nothing advanced or serious for now. The exit of Pietro Pellegri would open the doors for a new signing with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara looking attentively at the transfer market to see if they can find a worthy opportunity.
