The January transfer market window starts in January 3rd. AC Milan's number one goal for the defensive department is Sven Botman of Lille.
The Dutch defender who turns 22 on January 12 is a reliable profile sought by many clubs in Europe who value his quality. AC Milan are really keen to take the central defender, but as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is no agreement between the two clubs.
It is always difficult to sign important players in Janury because usually their clubs do not wnt to let them go in the middle of the season. But, as per the source, there is another reason which complicates the deal: Paolo Maldini wants to sign Sven Botman on loan with the right to exercise an option to buy. However, the French side is asking for a transfer fee of 30 million euros in what would be a permanent sale.
In any case, in the next few hours, the Rossoneri directors will try to step up their efforts in hopes to find an agreement with Lille.
