AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli, spoke to the media during the post-match press conference and said these words about his side's victory against Roma:
"Milan are proving to be a strong team; when we are less, the players use team spirit to make up for some absence. There is satisfaction for tonight, but the next match always counts."
Did the team believe in this victory?
"I believed it, I hoped for it, I saw a very attentive team during the break and at the restart. I was convinced that I had worked well, I was very confident and positive but aware of the difficulties of the match. The team was very good at interpreting it."
Did something click for the players?
"We have to stop talking about young age, my players are young but they are putting a lot of experience with situations that have accelerated growth. We are ambitious, we must play continuously."
Pioli discussed the importance of the win:
"It was important to win because we hadn't won for a while at San Siro. Roma had the best line-up at their disposal. This victory is important, but it will be especially if we give continuity next Sunday."
What was the tactical key for this match for you?
"Clear ideas and a lot of availability of the players. There is the contribution of everyone, from the club of the staff managers. We prepare the next games in the best possible way and we must continue to do so. Mistakes can happen but we have the qualities to win the next games."
There are so many obstacles due to Covid-19 already...
"We want to win as many games as possible. The pandemic is a delicate moment for everyone, the unexpected is around the corner, participation must be maximum from everybody."
