AC Milan are moving in the mercato right now to try and secure a replacement for Pietro Pellegri in a cheap deal: Marko Lazetic from Red Star Belgrade.
For Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, however, there is still the need to sign a central defender who can help out the team. The dream shot in that position remains, as always, Sven Botman: a Dutchman of Lille who is 22 years old. The former Ajax talent has caught the eye of the club managers and is seen as a great quality player.

Lille, however, clearly do not want to deprive themselves of Botman in the middle of the season. Therefore there is a plan B in place.
According to Milannews.it, plan B is actually to still sign a defender, but a low-cost solution. The idea is to not spend much on this profile in January and to keep a budget for the summer's window and try to focus on one of the two players: Sven Botman or Gleison Bremer.
Bremer, 24, is a Brazilian centre-back who has been proving himself so well at Torino this season. His contract expires at the end of the next season and he played 20 league games where he scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist in a total of 1739 minutes played so far.
