Tonight, Stefano Pioli's AC Milan played an important game, valid for matchday 23, against Juventus. The clash ended in a goalless draw which saw the red and black side become tied to second spot in the league with Napoli with 49 points.
This was the hosts' lineup:
4-2-3-1: Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Romagnoli, Hernández; Tonali, Krunić; Messias, Díaz, Leão; Ibrahimović
As for the white and black faithful, this is how they took the field:
4-4-2: Szczęsny; De Sciglio, Rugani, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Cuadrado, Locatelli, Bentancur, McKennie; Dybala, Morata
The game started with a lot of physicality between the two sides. The midfield battle was very strong and duels were tough. Il Diavolo team, despite many absences, held their own and managed to make some important chances. Unfortunately, they could not capitalise on them.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not have much impact unfortunately and he was forced out of the pitch. He was replaced by French centre-forward Olivier Giroud.
The second half's majority was Milan camping in the half of Juventus. The Rossoneri were able to reach the final third always, but the finishing touch and execution was lacking.

AC Milan saw their performance and effort not rewarded with much needed 3 points. Massimiliano Allegri returned to Turin with one precious point as they continue to try to get into to the top 4 positions.
Now, there have been some positives to take from this game, given the absences especially at the back. Stefano Pioli must build on this performance and should hope that, against the bitter rivals Inter, his side would be able keep a clean sheet again but also score goals.
