AC Milan's full-back, Theo Hernandez, has been absolutely a great pillar for Stefano Pioli in the lineup since his arrival.
The former Real Madrid full-back has proved many times that he is well worth the 20 million euros transfer fee paid in one 2019 summer. The French defender has also managed to get a much-deserved call-up by the France national team coach Didier Deschamps, and he did not disappoint with amazing performances.
The player is now worth at least 60 million euros, a figure that makes the Rossoneri directors surely smile and take pride in their investment that has obviously paid off. His current deal expires in 2024. However, Paolo Maldini is keen on adding a few more years to that deadline and reward him with better financial terms.
The legendary former captain of AC Milan is confident that the deal is now in its final steps as he admitted in a recent interview granted to DAZN: "We are going to meet his agent in the next few days, but only a few details are missing. The agreement is almost reached."
There are a few details to iron out and Theo, unless any unexpected surprises take place, will be boasting a new contract that sees his salary reach around 4.5 million euros including bonuses, as per sources.
Theo Hernandez never really gave much thought to temptations from Paris Saint-Germain. He is expecting a newborn with his partner Zoe and the best decision for him is to stay in Milan where he is really settled, happy and performing well in his club.
It is not just Theo Hernandez who is on the renewal agenda of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, but there is also Rafael Leao, Ismael Bennacer and Matteo Gabbia.
Maldini confirms Theo’s renewal is close with only some details missing
