AC Milan directors, Paolo Maldini, Frederic Massara and CEO Ivan Gazidis are ready to show support to coach Stefano Pioli by bolstering the squad in view of next season.
The club must stay competitive and there is already talk that a signing is already close to being secured (Sven Botman, see here)
But, with the attacking midfield area slowing down and not being able to add the much needed creativity and assists as well as goals, it seems that the club will want to find someone who can give more on the wings and in the attacking midfielder position.
In fact, the player who is on the radar right now for the AC Milan management is Real Madrid's Marco Asensio who plays as a right-winger, but also has experience playing right behind the strikers.
According to a report published by Spanish outlet Todofichajes.com, Real Madrid's focus and attention seem to be on Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior, which is leaving out Asensio. Los Blancos, for their part, value him at around 40 million euros. His contract runs out in June 2023. The 26-year-old Spaniard has 9 goals and 1 assist across all competitions so far in 29 appearances this season.
AC Milan have been linked with a move for the player in the past. But, there were never concrete negotiations. Now, however, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara could choose to accelerate for him. But, Serie A rivals Juventus are also keen on him.
