AC Milan's women goalkeeper, Laura Giuliani, spoke to the club's official channel about the last game against Sassuolo which ended in a goalless draw:
"We played 11 against 10 for almost seventy minutes and we could have done more. On the other hand, we take what we have done good and take it home, starting to work from it. Now all the matches will be like the finals."
On the goal of second place:
"I think our second place depends on how we play, on how we face the matches, on the determination we put in and above all on the work we do every day on the pitch. We had some important defections, however the team is reacting very well and we have shown once again that we are very compact and work for each other."
On the 2022 year:
"I think 2022 has really changed us a lot. We started the year with the right conviction and determination, we play for each other and I think these few months are showing it. We conceded only one goal, it is the result of an important team organisation and team work that we are doing well. We are moving well, when we lose the ball we all try to recover and in front we attack the area in many numbers so we can score goals. We are well aware that we can do more, we started 2022 with a different spirit and with the determination to want to break everything."
Laura Giuliani on the next fixture against Napoli:
"We have to think about playing our game, putting our qualities on the field and trying to exploit our strengths, which are many. We have improved a lot and have found our own identity."
The quality of the women's league is improving...
"Seeing the squads at the beginning of the season, I think the championship has leveled up a lot. In fact, last year and in the other years many names were missing. I hoped that the season would go like this, because it gives visibility to the championship and also gives life and shape to what is a real competition and above all it gives the movement the possibility to grow. We hope that this competition will continue over the years to make the championship more and more attractive and also to improve personally", declared Laura Giuliani.
On the season so far:
"Personally I divide the season into two parts. I see the first and second part of the season as two really different paths. In the first, we had some difficulties, I myself feel that I have not given what I could give and that I have not been completely helpful to the first team as I hoped. The second started as I would have liked for the first, we are working, I am lucky to have a good preparation with whom I share this path and who supports me in everything I do. I think we really have a lot to achieve together and a lot of satisfactions to take away."
