Tonight, AC Milan plays an important derby in Coppa Italia, valid for the second fixture of the semi-final. But, there is also much speculation about a possible sale of the Rossoneri from Elliott Management Corporation to Bahrain-based investment fund InvestCorp for a fee around 1.1 billion dollars as per the Bahrain embassy in the UK.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Elliott Management granted InvestCorp 2 weeks of exclusivity talks regarding a potential sale of the club. During this period there will be intense analysis of the Rossoneri club's financial books. But, once the period ends, there will be no extensions. This means that the club could be sold in that period or Elliott would consider other buyers.

The Italian newspaper reports that it is still too early to see what the future of the current directors would be with new owners. But, as for Ivan Gazidis, he may decide to step back given his strong bond with the American hedge fund, Elliott.
