Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta spoke about the Rossoneri's current form and the legendary Ricardo Kakà who turned 40 just yesterday.
"Milan lacks that extra twist and I believe that the strength of the group is the sum of the individualities.. In reality, going forward, and I take responsibility for what I say, they are not up to the level of Milan. The team still manages to play a good game but the individuals are not in their best period: this has happened and it can happen."
Costacurta on Kakà:
"Kaká was very professional to have that talent and perhaps this was the anomaly, in the sense that we met many talented, but none had the professionalism of Ricardo. Kaká, on the other hand, was a great talent but above all he always wanted to improve . He was the classic good guy, he listened to us too when he won the Ballon d'Or. He has always been very discreet. I think you feel very well what Kaká was like off the pitch by looking at him on the pitch. He is among the few players to have demonstrated this symbiosis on and off the pitch. Ricky was like that, every now and then he seemed to pray: we respected these silences and this choice of his."
Costacurta on what he liked the most about Kakà's style:
"I've never seen a player catch the ball at one point and aim with that speed, as if there was a straight line to the opponent's goal. I think that was the real characteristic of Ricardo."
