AC Milan won an important game against Fiorentina at the San Siro with a little over 70k fans present. Rafael Leao scored the only goal of the game and managed to keep the distance between Inter and the Rossoneri.
The match was not an easy one. The referee who was in charge on the pitch was Paolo Valeri. Gazzetta.it, discussed the performance of the Italian who officiated the game.

There are two dubious calls. The first one was in the 19th minute when Fiorentina's Youssef Maleh who was already booked by then, intervened on Sandro Tonali. A second yellow card for the player would not have been a mistake.
The other call was towards the end in the 89th minute. Leao falls after an intervention from Ikoné in the penalty box. The French spread his leg to take a position, but ends up penalising the Portuguese. Paolo Valeri, the referee, however, lets it go and does not whistle for a penalty.
