Former Inter and AC Milan Argentinian striker, Hernan Crespo, has said his piece about the exciting Scudetto race between the Rossoneri and their bitter rivals the Nerazzurri.
Here are his words, entrusted to the microphones of La Gazzetta dello Sport:
"The most beautiful Scudetto? Because it was unexpected, because no one would have bet a euro on it at the beginning of the season. Pioli's Milan never stayed down. Indeed, if we go back and review the gaps in the standings during the various stages of the championship, we realize that Milan could have closed the games earlier, because they managed up to seven points ahead of Inter."
Crespo added:
"If the Scudetto does not happen for Milan. It's because Inzaghi's team are very tough. and also because the Rossoneri remain a very young group. There have been injuries, defeats against mid-level teams, problems of various kinds, but Milan reacted at all times and here, if we want to talk about the aesthetic level, lies the beauty of this group that was certainly not the strongest."
Crespo concluded:
"Key moment for Milan? The comeback victory against Inter in the return leg of the league. Giroud's brace as an old-fashioned striker, gave us a fundamental momentum to believe in it until the end. And, ranking in hand, it could also decide the final of this exciting championship."
