Napoli's president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has spoken about the need of cutting down costs in today's football. He is motivated by the project of AC Milan as Elliott insisted on specific parameters to stabilise the club financially.
The Napoli chief said the following words:
"Feeling, rather than reason, is often used as an approach to problems... There are families, agents, there are players. And therefore interests that very often are not manageable by the club unless the intention is to bleed out."
De Laurentiis added:
"AC Milan won the Scudetto with 40 million euros fewer in salary. This means that we must get back on track with the rules that have guided us all these years."
