The Brazilian defender who is 25 years old, Léo Duarte, has finished his second season on loan with the Turkish side Basaksehir. He left AC Milan on a 18-month temporary deal with a buy-option set at 5.5 million euros.
The defender cost the club's coffers 10 million euros coming from Flamengo in the summer of 2019. Now, it is time for him once again to think about his future as the Turkish club is asking for a discount on the buy-option.
As per Calciomercato.com, initially there seemed to be no doubts about the Turks' willingness to continue with him, but then, there was some sort of a step taken backwards. In fact, Basaksehir are trying to sign Leo Duarte but with a fairly "substantial discount", just like how AC Milan have done with Alessandro Florenzi (which is a done deal).
At the moment, negotiations are ongoing, Duarte's contract expires in June 2024. If an agreement is not found with the Turkish club, he would return to Milanello and the management would then be looking for a new destination for the 25-year-old who made 33 league appearances this season with 2872 minutes played.
