Sven Botman's future remains uncertain. The Lille central defender has two offers from AC Milan and Newcastle, as per multiple reports. The Premier League side are reportedly offering a bigger fee than what the Rossoneri are proposing. However, the Dutchman is holding out for the Rossoneri as he prefers a move to the Serie A champions.
According to what is reported by Thenorthernecho.co.uk, Milan have tabled an offer and it is significantly lower than the deal Newcastle have agreed with Lille officials. As a result, the French club’s owners have told Sven Botman that he will not be moving to the red and black faithful unless they actually improve their offer.
"Milan are understood to have proposed a deal that would see them pay between €20-25m up front, with the total package worth no more than €30m no matter what Botman goes on to achieve at the San Siro", writes the source.
Newcastle, on the other hand, are offering 30 million euros with supplementary fees of around 10 million euros thus making the total fee reach 40 million euros.
Newcastle want to wrap up the deal soon, in a fortnight and Lille want to accept their offer because it is higher than what the Rossoneri are proposing.
The Premier League side understand that Botman is really interested in AC Milan. However, they continue to try to convince him by telling him that they have realistic ambitions to be challenging for domestic honours and returning to continental competition over the course of his proposed deal.
