As per La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, AC Milan are following with interest the situation of Sassuolo star Hamed Junior Traorè, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder from Ivory Coast. He can be a serious candidate for wearing the Milan shirt, especially if the Rossoneri continue to struggle for Renato Sanches.
It is true that the two players mentioned above are different in terms of characteristics but both can play as attacking midfielders. The newspaper writes that Traore may even be more dangerous going forward. The number 23 of Sassuolo this year was the third player in the league for the number of shots on goal and the fifteenth for key steps: with these numbers it could really represent an upgrade for head coach Stefano Pioli and his team.
To sign Hamed Traorè, though, AC Milan will have to shell out 25 million euros which is the fee requested by the Neroverdi. Leed United are also reportedly on him. According to the source, there may be willingness to accept payment in installments. In any case, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara must have their contracts extended first, then they will be fully operational and assess the situation in the transfer market window.
