AC Milan could choose to go for a cheaper profile in defence instead of Sven Botman in order to allocate the transfer budget for the signing of someone in the attacking midifeld department.
The Lille centre-back, who was formerly at Ajax, is a 22-year-old Dutch defender. He has interest coming from the Premier League side Newcastle. According to multiple reports, the Magpies are working hard to convince him in order to join them.

While Botman still would like to wait for the red and black faithful, it is not excluded that Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara go for someone else. In this sense, Tuttosport write that the alternative profile that is followed by the club is: Francesco Acerbi of Lazio.
The Italian defender in question is 34 years old. He is contracted to Lazio until June 2025 and has played for AC Milan before.
