It has been reported in the last few days that AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia's future is not very certain and secure in view of the next season with the red and black faithful. The Italian 22-year-old central defender has a valid contract with the club until June 2026. He only managed to make 10 appearances between Serie A and Coppa Italia with 674 minutes played overall. Sampdoria are understood to be very keen on him.

According to what is reported by Italy-based newspaper Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri management blocked the negotiations with Sampdoria which were over the transfer of Gabbia on a loan basis. The Rossoneri are waiting first to find a new reinforcement for the defensive area before looking into the future of Gabbia.
