As explained by A Bola yesterday, Rafael Leao must pay 19 million euros to Sporting Lisbon as part of his legal dispute. The initial fee was 16.5 million euros and with interest, the figure reached the 20 million mark. However, thanks to super agent Jorge Mendes, the fine is reduced by 1 million.
Tuttosport have have confirmed this news in today's print edition and write that the agreement between all parties is there. But now, this may affect the renewal speech with AC Milan.
This financial situation makes it hard for Rafael Leao to accept the proposal put on the table by Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara which is set at, reportedly, 4 million euros net per season.
Tuttosport write that the Milan management would also find it difficult to reach 7 million euros salary request. For the moment, the red and black faithful are protected by 150 million euros release clause. But, they should still work more on the renewal front and try to make an acceleration soon.
