Young Italian goalkeeper of AC Milan Primavera side Sebastiano Desplanches has granted an interview to Icon Magazine.
Here are his words, relayed by MilanPress.it:
"Being called the heir of Donnarumma? It is a motivation to train more. It gives me energy and satisfaction because it means that I have already reached a good level."
On the national team and the U-19 European championship:
"Wearing the Azzurri jersey great honor and a pleasure, I'm also working for myself because the European Championships are a good way to showcase for next season, and for the leap into football."
On the call up for the match against Porto in Champions League:
"The first time in Porto was unexpected, they told me that same morning. I knew I was going to be on the bench, but I was still a little nervous. Being in the center of a stadium with 40,000 fans was a wonderful emotion."
On the transition from Inter Primavera to Milan Primavera:
"I was around 10 or 11, so the transfer from one side of Milan to the other was not so noisy. I'm not sure how it can be for a Çalhanoglu or Serie A players."
Desplanches on being a goalkeeper:
"It's a great responsibility. You have to stay focused for the full 90 minutes and always be ready. Even when the team is in trouble, it is important that they can lean on the goalkeeper and that he conveys confidence. A responsibility that I adore."
On his models and dreams:
"Donnarumma without a doubt. I saw him train and he is a phenomenon. And also Maignan: he is an example because he is a maniac for perfection. The dream is to play the Champions League: I will work every day to make it. And maybe to win it. If I were to win it with the Milan shirt, it would be the dream of dreams."
